Chartermaster Mark Wisch won second place for a 65.4-pounder, and Ali Johnson of Laguna Beach (one of four women on the boat), won third place for a 63.4-pounder.

Alex Lail of Temecula won first prize with his 37.6lb albacore. David Karlin of Chula Vista was second, for a 36.4-pounder. Robert Starkey of San Diego was third, for a 35.8-pounder. First timer Melissa Palmer of Tucson was fourth, for a 33.2-pound albacore.

Thirteen year old Brian Moore II, of Phoenix took first place with a 33.6-pound albacore on his first long range trip. Brian caught it on the boats??? rental gear.

Janean Priest, of Reno, took first place with her first tuna; a 34-pound albacore. Rob Bellrose, of Lompoc, was second with a 29.9-pound tuna. Richard Priest, of Reno, placed third with a 29-pound albie.

A 20-minute fight with a 38-pound albacore won the jackpot for J. P. Nisley of Rio Rancho, NM. Jim Odlum of Mission Viejo was second for a 37.6-pound longfin. Dave Rexrode won third place for a 28.7-pound albacore.

Ron Chisum of Escondido won first place for a 32.4-pound albacore. Steve Taylor of Napa Valley tied for second place with Tom Connors of Escondido. Both had albacore of 31.8 pounds.

Dick Woolsey of McKinleyville won first place for a 40.4-pound albie. Arlen Williams of Stockton and his son Steve, also of Stockton, won second and third places, for albacore of 39.8 and 34.6 pounds.

Roger Kuramoto of Santa Monica got the top fish, a 36.4-pound albacore. Tokichi Ouchi from Los Angeles won second place for a 33.4-pound albacore. Joseph Liu of Los Angeles was third, for a 32.8-pound albacore.

Tom Thompson of San Antonio, TX won first place with a 110-pound yellowfin. Bob Kammerer of La Quinta was second for an 83-pounder. James Lee won third place for an 80-pound yellowfin tuna.

Johnnie Allos of San Diego won first place for an 86-pound tuna. Ziad Kizy of San Diego was second, for a 70-pounder. Al Brandenburg of San Clemente was third, for a 66-pound Guadalupe yellowfin tuna. Don Wallace stood in with the anglers for a lineup shot with his honorable mention 125-pound tuna.

Enrique Cienfuegos of Moreno Valley with his jackpot winning 80.2 lb Yellowtail. Geoff D???Sena of Redondo beach won second place for a 75-pound yellowfin tuna. Bruce Stewart of Paso Robles was third for a 70-pounder.
