Jackpot Winners

Jonah Li of Hi???s Tackle Box in San Francisco and his son Eduardo, 13, were aboard for the five-day Hi???s Tacjle charter trip and got their share of fish. Eduardo goes to Miller Creek Middle School. The pair posed with an albacore and a tuna.

The big longfin weighed 47.4 pounds on the certified scales. It was caught by Roger Nies of San Diego. He bagged it with a sardine on 50-pound line.

Jerry Teles of Needles won first place on the four-day trip, for a 35-pound albacore. Greg Jacobson of San Luis Opisbo won second place for a 33.6-pound yellowtail. Eric Ott of Lathrop tied with Bill Boid of Modesto for third place. Gary had a 29.8-pound albacore, and Bill had a 29.8-pound yellowtail.

Chuck Steffen of Oceanside was the jackpot winner, for a 39.8-pound albacore. Steffen was tied by Paul Fitzgerald of Westminster, who got a 39.8-pound long fin. Second place went to Richard Miller of Sacramento, for a 39-pounder albacore.

I hooked up on one of our last stops of day #1. This fish was TOUGH. He really worked me.

We tried to keep the bite going. Heres a nice albacore that was caught before the bite shut down.

Tom "Mr Jackpot" Zamecki from oxnard fought hard to get this fish to the boat and it paid off big. This 30 + pound albie ended winning the jackpot. Nice fish Tom
